New Hope ETC is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting youth and families through afterschool programming, meal service, and enrichment opportunities. We operate a community food pantry and provide academic support, nutrition services, and mentoring to underserved populations in Jersey City.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented General Manager to support our day-to-day administrative operations and ensure smooth program delivery. This is a part-time, on-site role ideal for a highly organized individual with strong communication skills, tech literacy, and a passion for community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support & Facility Oversight
- Answer phones and forward calls as needed
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries
- Open and close the facility daily and maintain an organized workspace
- Maintain and update program calendars, compliance records, and certifications
Grant & Program Reporting
- Complete and submit quarterly grant reports and documentation
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, contracts, invoices, and insurance
- Monitor funding levels to support afterschool and food service programs
Design & Communications
- Design and distribute print and digital materials (flyers, newsletters, signage)
- Administer surveys and compile reports from students, staff, and stakeholders
- Facilitate internal communications using email, Zoom, and Google Workspace
Program & Meal Service Oversight
- Supervise food service operations, including inventory and vendor ordering
- Ensure compliance with food safety and timely meal delivery procedures
- Support coordination of afterschool activities and food pantry operations
Team & Operations Support
- Oversee and approve staff timesheets bi-weekly via Gusto
- Assist with onboarding new hires and account setup (email, payroll)
- Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules; communicate with families
- Promote a professional, respectful work environment and support team needs
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks for basic accounting and reporting
- Familiarity with Zoom and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar)
- Experience in nonprofit, education, or community-based program administration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage small teams effectively
- Must be able to lift small deliveries and be physically present on-site daily
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
