Pay Range: $17.13USD to $19.69USD
SUMMARY
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for preparing and processing accounts payable and reimbursements, adhering to established accounting policies. Additionally, they perform a variety of routine accounting duties, following existing procedures and methods, and provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong analytical skills. They should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in using accounting software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are also essential qualities for success in this role.
By efficiently managing accounts payable and supporting the accounting team, the Accounting Clerk significantly contributes to the company's financial health. Their work ensures that financial transactions are processed accurately and timely, which helps maintain the company's reputation for reliability and integrity in its financial operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Receive and prepare invoices and employee reimbursement requests for payment, ensuring that necessary authorizations have been received before disbursement.
- Enter and maintain invoice and vendor data in accounts payable software.
- Generate invoice payments as needed to ensure timely payments of accounts payable. Assemble and prepare invoices, remittance advices and checks for mailing.
- Research and resolve billing and payable problems or questions.
- Maintain accounts payable software system to utilize various functionality, including approval process rules, excel importing, invoice importing, and cost allocation methodologies.
- Record entries into general ledger and print out various general ledger reports.
- Maintain W-9 and 1099 reporting.
- Prepare and post the various entities activity, including cash receipts, journal entries, general ledger, cash disbursements and general ledger reconciliations as well as all required report
- Maintain subsidiary schedules that support and reconcile to control accounts or control activities.
- Assist with federal and state examination requests, as well as internal and external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax information.
- Accurately key or scan document data into imaging equipment, ensuring all information is properly filed, indexed and cross-referenced through electronic means.
- Properly review and check back scanned documents to ensure accuracy of electronic files.
- Ensure that electronic records are properly maintained, archived and stored according to established policies and regulations.
- Utilize strong communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Recommend and implements process improvements in areas of responsibility.
- Provide support to other areas of the Accounting Department as necessary.
- Assume responsibility for special projects and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.
- A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention detail.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to apply sound judgement in decision-making.
- Ability to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret common and specialized financial reports.
- Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
- Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
- The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- One or more years of experience in Accounting or a related field preferred.
