Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely billing, clean claims submission, and efficient collections for our outpatient physical therapy services. If you have experience in medical billing—especially in a physical therapy, rehabilitation, or outpatient setting—we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit insurance claims electronically and manually to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and workers’ compensation carriers.
- Review and verify patient insurance information and authorizations prior to claim submission.
- Work denials and rejections by investigating, correcting, and resubmitting claims as needed.
- Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and reconcile patient accounts.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries and outstanding balances.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, billing regulations, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
- Prepare monthly reports on A/R, collections, and outstanding claims.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience (physical therapy or outpatient rehab preferred).
- Working knowledge of insurance guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, No-Fault, Workers’ Comp).
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR and billing software (e.g., WebPT, Kareo, AdvancedMD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
