Join a collaborative team at South Dakota State University (SDSU) as a Budget Analyst in the Accounting Department. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional. In this role, you’ll be a key financial partner to Facilities and Services, assisting with financial planning and execution of campus construction and maintenance projects.

Job Responsibilities: To support the department in their joint work with Facilities and Services by preparing managerial reports, overseeing proper accounting of transactional activity, and providing data analysis used for monitoring and accounting for various funding sources across multiple projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Practices;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; and
- Experience with financial or project management software.
Skill & Ability to:
- Interpret and apply institutional, state, federal, and funding agency policies, laws and regulations;
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment;
- Research, compile, analyze, and present data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Communicate information clearly and professionally in person, in writing and through other communication channels;
- Exercise tact, patience, discretion and professionalism;
- Utilize computers and applicable software tools efficiently; and
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a solutions-oriented mindset.
