Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental team. We are a busy private dental office with only one doctor on site. Candidate with previous dental office working experience is preferred. A strong background of understanding dental insurance is a plus. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office by managing patient interactions and administrative tasks. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of health information management practices.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and managing medical collections as needed.
- Utilize dental office software such as Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, insurance filing and patient management.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow and communication within the office.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area for patients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with health information management practices and HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Proficient in using phone systems with strong phone etiquette skills.
- Excellent clerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of medical collection processes is a plus.
- Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
