This position is responsible for the daily management of the assigned HUD housing project.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Be responsible for accepting applications, verifying income information, figuring and collecting monthly rent from tenants.
- Be responsible for annual tenant recertification.
- May supervise part time maintenance worker if one has been assigned to the project.
- Distributes flyers about the housing project, speaks to civic groups, etc., actively solicits new tenants.
- Coordinates activities for tenants.
- Maintain appropriate files and records, submitting reports as necessary.
- Assist during the annual audit as necessary.
- Attend regular housing manager meetings.
- Conduct monthly physical inspections of apartments. Assist with annual physical inspections of apartments and property.
- Assist with and prepare for management reviews and REAC inspections.
- Oversee the preparation of vacant apartments to be made ready for occupancy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have computer skill, including Microsoft office.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to work well with others and to deal with the public.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
Basic Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent with two years-experience in a business environment. Interest or experience in working with the elderly.
