POSITION SUMMARY

EIF seeks a dynamic individual to spearhead our HR function in this newly created role. As we enter a phase of growth and expansion, we need an innovative and strategic HR Generalist to guide us forward. You'll be responsible for leading our HR function, ensuring legal compliance, and championing the EIF mission and vision. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our organization and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.


As the Human Resources Generalist at EIF, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's future by leading our HR function from inception. You'll have the unique opportunity to craft our organizational culture, policies, and practices in alignment with our mission and vision. This newly created role is designed to provide direction to our HR function, empowering you to drive initiatives aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while innovating HR practices. You will also champion equal access, fairness, and broad participation initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with EIF's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to senior leadership on a wide range of HR-related issues, including organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices, and mitigate HR-related risks and liabilities.
  • Foster a culture of equal access, fairness, and broad participation, and champion initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.
  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative tasks, including but not limited to drafting and editing documents, leading background check processes, updating HR databases, and responding to employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee HR operations, including onboarding new employees, answering employee questions and concerns, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to enter data into a computer, read computer screens and printed materials with or without vision aids.
  • Proficiency in hearing and comprehending speech at normal levels in various environments.
  • Effective communication skills in audible tones for clear understanding.
  • Occasional work in noisy and crowded environments with frequent interruptions.
  • Occasional campus visits around DFW required

  • $75,000 starting salary and commensurate with experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & EVALUATION

  • Exempt - Salaried
  • At-will employment
  • Performance evaluations conducted in accordance with EIF’s policy.
  • Must agree to take relevant credential courses, as requested by the CEO

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of progressive experience in human resource management, with demonstrated success in HR roles.
  • Strong preference for candidates holding SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification, or other similar credential.
  • Proven track record of driving organizational change, implementing HR initiatives aligned with strategic objectives, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector, education, or working with underserved communities is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Texas employment law and regulations is preferred, along with the ability to effectively navigate legal complexities and ensure compliance in HR practices.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
