Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Certified Bookkeeper with nonprofit experience to support internal bookkeeping functions for multiple clients. This role is behind-the-scenes and ideal for someone who enjoys focused, transactional work in a supportive team environment. Candidates must be proficient in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Bill.com, and Excel. Local availability is REQUIRED for occasional in-person meetings.Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online/Desktop
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain and organize accurate general ledger records
- Manage payables and process payments through Bill.com
- Record deposits from various sources such as Stripe, Square, Hubspot
- Record journal entries, and allocate revenue to appropriate programs/funds
- Assist in maintaining tracking schedules for grants and restricted funds
- Prepare standard monthly reports for review
- Support annual audit prep by maintaining documentation and schedules
- Sales Tax filings
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably with nonprofit organizations
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Bill.com, and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of basic nonprofit accounting principles (e.g., fund tracking, grant restrictions)
- High attention to detail and consistency in data entry and recordkeeping
- Able to manage multiple sets of books and meet deadlines independently
- Located in or near Noblesville, Indiana
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
