Job Duties: Answering phones and entering in claims. Assigning claims to the agency and send reminders to the agency if they have outstanding claims. Office and Administrative duties assigned to the by the Risk Manager, i.e. taking minutes for the Statewide Safety Committee or team meetings. Processing the claims once we receive a recommendation back from the agency. All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous office experience and/or legal or business coursework. Written and/or verbal communication experience.
Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Helpful, but not required, to have a basic understanding or tort law and insurance. Strong communication and organizational skills, initiative and confidentiality. Strong computer skills, primarily Microsoft, Adobe and the ability to be trained on the claims management software. Critical thinking and research skills to determine claim jurisdiction and comprehend claim handling instructions and policies that can vary based on type of claim, amount, etc.
