Summary
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join the team at this established, growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient inventory control. Your contributions will be vital in helping our clients optimize their purchasing strategies and achieve cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with client needs.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing costs.
- Oversee logistics operations related to purchasing and supply chain management.
- Source new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities to meet client requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Track key metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Monitor inventory levels, market trends, and forecast demand
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements and alignment of purchasing activities with business goals
- Perform cost analysis and risk assessments
- Strengthen supplier relationships and accountability
- Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure optimal pricing for materials
- Plan, oversee, and contribute to the work and development of a growing purchasing team
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong understanding of and experience in supply chain management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and contracts
- Ability to support cross-functional collaboration of key stakeholders
- Ability to balance strong negotiation & analytical skills with excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field or experience
- 5 to 10 years of experience with strategic sourcing and supplier management
- Experience with forecasting & inventory adjustments
- Experience with risk mitigation and problem solving in manufacturing procurement
- Experience with procurement systems and ERP systems
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
