POSITION SUMMARY
The Irrigation Supervisor schedules and directs personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective irrigation services to our customers. The Landscaping Irrigation Supervisor supports the Senior Director/Manager in estimating, proposal preparation, and client meetings as needed. The Landscaping Irrigation Supervisor will also make recommendations and sell irrigation services to clients. The Landscaping Irrigation Supervisor will oversee a commercial landscape irrigation portfolio and 2 -3 service team members. The Landscaping Irrigation Supervisor is responsible for these team members' training and development and provides day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understanding client needs via regular communication with the customer POCs
- Managing all irrigation services, including coordinating all team members, materials, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work.
- Inspecting properties and providing inspection reports in accordance with contract requirements, and following up with customers to properly prepare a specific action plan for necessary repairs
- As necessary, perform hands-on work with crews such as drip-line leak repair and replacements, PVC line repair and replacements, irrigation valve repair and replacements, irrigation timer repair and programming, etc. to meet work and scheduling demands.
- Working with the Senior Director/Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new staff and prepare daily crew schedules
- Ensuring proper paperwork is completed for all employee changes and new hires
- Communicating with, counseling, training, discipline, review and development of a growth plan for employees
- Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, safety and monitor safety records
- Focusing on safety and monitor safety records
- Maintaining and managing all required administrative systems, including but not limited to timesheets, job databases and service schedules
- Ordering materials as needed and monitoring costs and deliveries
- Requesting purchase orders and use per customer requirements and company guidelines
- Assisting the Senior Director/Manager in the performance of irrigation sales tasks and proposal preparation as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a 2-year degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of prior customer service, management and leadership experience within an organization, the landscaping industry, or local marketplace
- At least 1-year supervisory experience
- Must possess TCEQ Irrigator Certifications and Licenses needed to perform work in San Antonio, Texas
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
