Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and creativity, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop innovative sushi menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
- Manage inventory of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality while minimizing waste.
- Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for special events or catering services.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role, specifically as a Sushi Chef or similar position within the food industry.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques related to sushi preparation.
- Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Ability to plan menus creatively while considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
