Intermediate Full Stack Developer

About the role

Our client is looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Developer to co-design, build, test and implement software solutions across its property management platform, reporting to the Head of Development.

Working in Laravel (PHP) and ReactJS, you’ll build functional front ends and efficient back-end structures that deliver a quality user experience, while thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and bringing high energy to the team.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain front-end features in ReactJS, contributing to the existing design system and meeting the application's coding standards.
• Extend and create internal APIs, and integrate with external APIs, processing data and payloads efficiently.
• Analyse data requirements, maintain data models and create the migrations needed for new development.
• Write and test programs and scripts from agreed specifications.
• Take part in code and merge reviews, identifying bugs and code not to standard and suggesting solutions.
• Support releases to production and post-release reviews.
• Ensure application performance, uptime and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality.
• Work within agile development methodologies and contribute ideas to new development solutions.

About you

• 2–3 years of commercial full-stack development experience.
• Solid working knowledge of PHP, ideally with the Laravel framework.
• Solid working knowledge of ReactJS (functional components, hooks, state management).
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, data modelling and migrations.
• Experience with Git, code reviews and automated testing.
• Clear written and verbal communication, and a customer-first, team-player attitude.
• The right to work in New Zealand.
• Experience with TypeScript (preferred but not essential).
• Experience with testing tools such as PHPUnit, Pest, Jest or React Testing Library (preferred but not essential).
