He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations Performance, the Asset Protection Manager is responsible for providing regional support to the Watercare Transmission and Network teams. This role manages a team of passionate Engineers who assess and manage risks ensuring the protection of Watercare assets.

In this role you will also:

  • Liaise and coordinate with Developers, contractors and project teams
  • Promote a culture of quality customer service in the organisation
  • Control output of business unit to ensure Watercare outcomes are achieved within budget
  • Initiate and develop partnerships with customers to define and evaluate service performance outcomes
  • Engage and motivate the team, creating opportunities for recognising and celebrating high performance at the individual and team level

You'll be a confident, enthusiastic problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude that loves a challenge and works well under pressure.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience is in contract and customer relationship management with a strong customer focus
  • The ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team (office and field based)
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Experience in working cross-functionally and effectively collaborate across teams
  • A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering, preferably in Structural or Civil disciplines
  • Preferable but not necessary to have previous experience in the Water or Wastewater industry
