Position Overview:
The Safety Analyst is a critical member of the HVACR Americas EHS team at Copeland. This full-time role is responsible for analyzing safety data, supporting compliance initiatives, and driving continuous improvement to reduce risk and enhance workplace safety across our operations. This position will interface with internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies, providing actionable insights that strengthen our safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Develop, maintain, and analyze safety performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs.
o Extract and manipulate data from VelocityEHS and other EHS systems to identify trends and potential risks.
o Prepare regular safety performance reports for site and regional leadership.
Safety Process Improvement:
o Assist in identifying gaps in current EHS processes and recommend solutions to improve compliance and reduce risk.
o Partner with site EHS leaders to implement corrective actions from incident investigations and audits.
o Support development and sustainment of SIF (Serious Injury & Fatality) prevention initiatives.
Regulatory & Compliance Support:
o Support OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
o Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring findings are tracked and resolved.
o Maintain documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal standards.
Training & Communication:
o Prepare safety presentations and visualizations for leadership and team meetings.
o Collaborate with EHS leadership to develop and communicate best practices across the region.
o Contribute to fostering a strong safety culture through data-driven insights and recommendations.
Required Education and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field.
· Minimum 1–3 years of experience in safety, data analytics, or EHS-related roles (internships/co-ops considered).
· Strong skills in Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
· Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
· Experience with EHS software systems (VelocityEHS, Enablon, or similar).
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS compliance best practices.
· Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Process Improvement experience.
Work Schedule & Travel:
· Standard 40-hour workweek with flexibility during core business hours (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
· Minimal travel expected (<10%).
