Program Manager
Job description
Salary: Daily rate plus super
Program Manager: Critical Infrastructure Renewal Program
- Sydney, hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
- 12-month initial contract, with strong potential for extension
- Rate: $1150 - $1200 p/d plus super
Lead a large-scale infrastructure renewal program through the move from planning to delivery.
A well-established organisation that provides essential services is renewing a significant portfolio of ageing infrastructure. The groundwork has been done, and they now need an experienced Program Manager to turn it into delivery.
This is a program of significant scale and real public impact. It covers the renewal of a broad portfolio of critical infrastructure, across both technology and physical assets, delivered while services stay live. You will lead a team of program managers and business analysts, working closely with internal stakeholders and customer organisations.
This role suits someone who wants to make a visible, lasting difference to how a program is run, not only deliver it.
Responsibilities include:
- Mobilising the program: establishing governance, a credible delivery baseline and an integrated plan, and moving it into the delivery phase
- Leading a team of program managers and BAs across multiple parallel workstreams
- Owning program reporting and governance, including the inputs that feed executive briefings and program updates
- Engaging with assurance bodies and meeting their requirements
- Building strong working relationships with customers, vendors, engineering and operations teams
- Prioritising renewal work based on condition, criticality, risk and supportability
- Planning delivery around live operational constraints so cutovers, migrations and decommissioning are safe and well tested
- Identifying gaps in current processes and systems and driving practical organisational change and uplift
Experience needed:
- 10+ years of program management experience, with a track record of leading large, high-value programs (well in excess of $100M)
- Significant background in telecommunications or infrastructure delivery
- Experience leading technology refresh, asset lifecycle or infrastructure renewal programs in a live environment
- Demonstrated success establishing governance and moving a program from set-up into delivery
- Confident communication with senior executives, including preparing clear, concise briefings
- Experience leading and developing a team of program managers
- Public sector experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
If you're ready to take on a program of this scale and want to shape how it's delivered, apply now or reach out to me for a confidential chat.
