About the Role
Truetimber is a leading tree care company based in Richmond, VA, known for delivering safe, professional, and high-quality arborist services. Were currently looking for a motivated Apprentice Tree Climber to join our growing team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, value safety, and want to learn the craft of tree climbing and professional tree care.
Youll work closely with experienced team members, receive on-the-job training, and help preserve the health and safety of trees and properties throughout the community.
Responsibilities
Learn and apply tree climbing, rigging, and pruning techniques under the supervision of experienced crew members
Assist with ground support and cleanup operations, including debris handling and equipment care
Maintain a clean and safe job site while following all safety protocols and company procedures
Communicate effectively with teammates and crew leaders to support smooth daily operations
Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly
Contribute to team productivity and customer satisfaction by working efficiently and professionally

Requirements
Must be 18 years or older
Valid Virginia Drivers License
Willingness to obtain a Class B CDL (training provided)
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening
Willingness to obtain First-Aid/CPR certification upon hire (training provided)
Must be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Must be willing and able to work additional hours during peak seasons or weather-related situations
Experience and License Requirements
No prior tree climbing experience required paid training provided
Valid drivers license required
CDL and First-Aid/CPR certification expected post-hire
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Range: 18.00- 20.00 per hour
