Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with carriers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics and transportation management, as well as the ability to negotiate contracts and manage relationships effectively.
Duties
- Establish and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate freight movement.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with carriers while ensuring competitive rates for clients.
- Coordinate dispatching of shipments, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedules.
- Monitor shipments in transit, addressing any issues or delays that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
- Utilize logistics sales strategies to expand the client base and increase revenue.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, contracts, and communications within the supply chain management system.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize freight operations and improve service delivery.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations related to freight transportation.
- Proven experience in sales management within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proficiency in logistics sales techniques and strategies for effective client engagement.
- Familiarity with contract negotiation processes and pricing strategies.
- Experience in dispatching operations and managing freight schedules.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills essential for building relationships with clients and carriers.
