What the Role Offers - HR Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist supports and partners with the Human Resources Manager to run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. As a new member of the HR team, you will bring your knowledge and experience in the following areas, including, but not limited to: recruitment and onboarding, new employee orientation, platform management (Bamboo HR, Kudos, LinkedIn Learning), and payroll and benefits administration.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, compensation, etc. as needed.
- Support the Senior HR Generalist with benefits enrollment, open enrollment coordination, and employee questions.
- Assist with payroll processes by ensuring accuracy of employee records and changes.
- Assist with employee relations issues.
- Stay up to date in knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in HR and employment law.
- Partner with the Recruiter to support recruitment activities, including, but not limited to: scheduling interviews and coordinating offer letters, background and reference checks.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive HR matters.
- Administer LinkedIn Learning, Kudos and BambooHR platforms (HRIS), ensuring employees can access and that their records are compliant.
- Respond to employee verification and unemployment requests.
- Manage the offboarding process and conduct exit interviews.
- Lead New Hire Orientation coordination and facilitation, including check-ins with new employees and their managers and I-9 documentation.
- Assist with employer branding and engagement campaigns.
- Order and post all required employment law posters and notices.
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of and experience in applying federal, state, and local laws as it relates to employment policies and practices with the ability and interest to stay up to date.
- Excitement and desire to work in a fast-paced environment during a period of growth, where there are many opportunities to create and build systems and processes.
- High degree of discretion, professional ethics, and judgment.
- Innate sense of ownership with demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction.
- Strong communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and customer service.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms such as BambooHR (preferred).
- PHR certification is required.
- Preferred work experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently use of office equipment that requires manual dexterity to operate (i.e. computers, phones, etc.).
- Occasional carrying, handling, and reaching for objects up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently sit or stand for long periods of time.
Mental Demands:
- Requires operational discipline to consistently focus and execute work-related tasks, with a minimum of human error and supervision. This involves self-checking of work immediately upon completion, and the ability to find / correct errors.
- Ability to elevate potential concerns/discrepancies to supervisors or management in a timely fashion.
- Ability to manage time effectively to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously required
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques to ensure project goals are met.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written are necessary to communicate within different departments and with external clients, maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Ability to adhere to ethical standards of conduct as well as applicable state and federal laws.
Working Conditions:
- Onsite position in Redmond or Woodinville, WA. No remote or hybrid work is available for this position.
- Primarily this position involves working in an office environment.
- Occasional work in a temperature-controlled environment may be required.
- Ability to travel between facilities depending on business needs.
- Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
Estimated Base Salary:
- $72,000 - $80,000 Yearly DOE
- It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
- The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
Benefits:
- Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, or HSA: Inventprise contributes 80% toward the Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for the employee, and their enrolled spouse, and dependents. Medical plans are currently provided through Premera Blue Cross.
- 401(k) program: Inventprise offers both pre-tax 401(k) and post-tax Roth retirement savings plans, letting you decide how you want to save for the future. We also make an employer contribution of 3% of your total earnings each pay period, regardless of whether you contribute.
