Under the general supervision of the Administrator and Registered Dietitian, directs and coordinates activities of kitchen workers preparing and cooking foods for patients, staff and visitors.
This position is full-time and includes a full benefits package.
Requirements
- Supervises staff when preparing patient meals.
- Maintains quality control measures to ensure temperature, attractiveness and palatability of food.
- Ensures food is prepared, cooked and portion size is per established policies and procedures.
- Ensures cleaning and sanitation requirements are maintained.
- Supervises the ordering of supplies for the department.
- Provides orientation, training and inservices for employees.
- Schedules staff to meet department needs, taking into account low patient census.
- Performs any or all of the duties in the kitchen, tray line, cafeteria and dishrooms as required by staffing shortages.
- Updates staff on changes in work or workplace, including relevant patient/resident changes.
- Previous cook experience required
- Pervious managerial experience preferred
