What You Will DoThe Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing all of a hotel’s guests with an accommodating experience by coordinating amenities and responding to customer needs. Their duties include greeting people as they enter the lobby, fielding calls from guests and helping visitors check into their rooms.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and register guests while providing outstanding guest service during their stay and settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay
- Provide attentive courteous and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay while maximizing room revenue and occupancy
- Communicate with hotel staff on the status of guest rooms
- Up-sell guest rooms and promoting hotel services
- Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up call
- Resolve minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer; informs supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests
- Ensure the delivery of parcels, mail, special deliveries, etc. to the guest’s room
- Ensure that the lobby is maintained, clean and tidy by partnering with the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Have knowledge of and assist in emergency procedures as required
- Interact with other departments to ensure that guest's needs are satisfied
- Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events local area attractions and things to do around the hotel
- Understand all aspects of service and be a role model/leader for other team members
- Accepts other special duties as required by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- One year of experience in a hotel as front desk representative
- Ability to comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system
- Knowledge of all rates packages and special promotions, familiar with all in house groups and be aware of closed out and restricted dates
- Answer and route phone calls and take guest messages with accuracy
- Guest service oriented, ability to multitask, detail oriented, and excellent organizational skills is required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holiday
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and the code of conduct
- Exemplary time and resource management including good attendance
- Ability to maintain peak performance during high stress situations
