Help Desk Technician

The IT Support role is a level 2 technical support position in an MSP with the primary function of supporting all IT needs. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Desktop hardware and software applications
  • Maintain vendor ticket systems and coordinate with outside contracted vendors for technology issues resolution
  • Telephone, ticket-based, and onsite support for clients needing help with technical issues
  • Coordinate all aspects of functionality for PC, laptop, printer, and scanner
  • Providing technical support for a multi-site environment
  • Providing Daily\weekly\monthly progress reports of technology issues and updates to manager
  • Providing technical support for special projects
  • Support client email system and mobile devices
  • Inventory management
  • Assembling hardware and installing or deletes software to ensure all hardware and software are working properly.
  • Troubleshooting computer equipment to confirm it is running correctly.
  • Be on-call after hours and on weekends

Selection Criteria

Minimum

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be willing and able to be a team player, and learn new products, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills
  • Excellent writing and grammatical skills (for generating and editing emails and notifications)
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Customer service skills
  • CompTIA A+ certified

Preferred

  • CompTIA Network+ certified
  • BS in Computer Science
  • Microsoft 365 Certification
  • Certificate or associate degree in Computer Science

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
